Deputy Head of Stage and Automation
Curve Theatre
£25,755 per annum
Full time, permanent (42 hours per week, Annualised)
Due to an increase in activity at Curve including more touring and produced work, we are now seeking to expand our technical department and therefore, we have an opportunity for an additional Deputy Head of Stage and Automation to join our Technical Team at Curve: one of Britain’s leading producing theatres. The post holder will work as part of the Production Department, maintaining the high standards of production and maintenance across the venue and equipment.
At least 3 years’ experience in a busy producing theatre environment is required for you to provide a full professional technical support service to Curve and its users. We are actively seeking a candidate with a stage and automation bias. You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team in order to participate in the upkeep and maintenance of multiple performance spaces as well as deputising for the Head of Stage and Automation. We are looking for a candidate who has experience of running crews, with experience of powered or counterweight flying, supporting designers during both produced and presented fit-ups, get outs and performances, and is looking for further challenges in this field. The right candidate will help run a department of six and needs to have proven leadership experience.
It is essential that the successful candidate can work well under pressure and be flexible to the venues needs. Knowledge of Nomad flying system, carpentry skills, previous touring experience and rigging experience is desirable but not essential.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to find out more about the role, head to the Curve Careers page for further details and to submit an application.
